The Company
This successful, well established family owned business is focused on bringing bold, inspiring products into the soft furnishings market. They are a leading wholesaler in New Zealand, bold enough to specialise in distinctively crafted and original products. They are now looking for an experienced Procurement and Inventory Manager who is looking to grow with the company.
  
The Role
The role is key to leading the Company forward in securing quality suppliers of materials and components. With a focus on price, delivery and quality targets, you will be contributing towards the shaping of the business through the next phase of planned growth.
 
Key responsibilities:
• Sourcing and building strategic relationships with international, predominately suppliers from the Asian subcontinent
• Negotiating contracts including pricing and delivery terms
• Building excellent relationships across internal departments
• Utilising technology and managing online/procurement and inventory control systems
• Maintain, control and report on Inventory accuracy and inventory shrinkage in the warehouse
• Identify savings opportunities (reduce cost, reduce waste, review trading terms and elimination of unproductive practices)
• Working with a continuous improvement mindset to develop new systems and procedures
• Reporting to provide clarity and visibility on current business performance
• Following new trends and regulations that effect the industry
  
About You
• 5+ years’ experience in Inventory and Procurement is required
• Experience working with suppliers in China/India is ideal
• Accounts experience an advantage
• Ability to speak Mandarin and Cantonese an advantage
• Proven appreciation of customer service expectations and cost demands of business
• Impeccable timing and accuracy
• Problem solving, organizational and research skills
• Versatile, tenacious and people orientated
• Proficient in Excel
